Undeveloped Reptiles Invade The Ellington This Saturday. OK, we're getting desperate for clever ways to promote our shows. You try doing this week after week and see if you do any better! The undeveloped reptiles are in fact The Blue Newts and Jimmy Rushing and the Prematures. Between them you'll hear some of Central Virginia's best musicians and they'll cover a lifetime of Rock, Pop, Blues and Roadhouse. You'll dance, you'll sing, you'll eat, you'll drink.... you get the idea. This is a hybrid event for us and the first of its kind as well. It's a cross between our overwhelmingly popular Ellington Fridays and our monthly Saturday night gigs. The two bands were the highest drawing acts for last season's Fridays and we wanted to reward them with a coveted Saturday night spot. And, we wanted to reward our faithful audience with a chance to see two great acts and have a dinner version of Chef Val Bolling's Friday buffet all for only $20. Are we out of our minds? Maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that this is the entertainment deal of the summer. Doors open for the buffet at 7pm and music starts at 8pm. The buffet comes down at 8:30 so don't be late.
