Commander Cody... what memories that brings back.
Well, to be honest I don't remember too much about the time I saw him in the 70's, but the 80's, man oh man! Actually I don't remember so much about that either, but just the fact that I saw him in the 80's does suggest that the show in the 70's must have been pretty outrageous, right?
Now, I do remember clearly seeing him in the 90's and it rocked. Hot Rod Lincoln, 20 Flight Rock, Beat Me Daddy Eight To the Bar, Lost in the Ozone... Rock n' Roll doesn't get better than the Commander Cody Band.
The Commander returns to The Ellington this Saturday night for the third time in three decades. Ticket sales are humming along, so put on your boots and your scarf and trudge down to one of the outlets listed below. This show is sponsored by our great friends at Bowens Jewlery Company and Atlantic Precision Rubber. When you see them, look deep into their eyes, put your hand on their shoulder and say "right on man."
Now, if you think you might have the munchies for the Commander's show, you might want to consider dinner at the Ellington. ACES catering (our friend Chef Val Bolling) has a great menu for the show:
Roast Pork Loin Topped with green pepper corn & brandy sauce
Grilled Salmon Cakes Topped with a Rosemary Hollandaise
Roast Chicken Breast With marinated button mushrooms
Amaretto Trifle
Don't forget to tell all your friends far and wide that Eddie From Ohio are coming April 2nd for two big shows! Tickets are available on line and will be in the outlets next week.
Back to work. See you at The Ellington!
