Yes, we know, EVERYONE wants something from you these days, but WE are a lot more fun than they are! The Ellington is a completely volunteer run organization, and it takes a lot of worker bees to put on a show. If you enjoy live music, but don't enjoy having to pay for it quite so much, here's your chance to hear it for free.
We always need volunteers to serve as event staff at our shows—from helping to seat people before the shows to clearing tables after.
But there's also a lot of behind the scenes work that our board members do, (but they're all getting so old and frail, that they'd be awfully grateful for your help) including:
Distributing posters and helping publicize our shows and our organization.
Helping with fundraising writing and researching grants, or contacting local businesses about providing corporate sponsorships.
Working with children and music by volunteering with the Ellington MusicBridge program.
Serving on committees to assist the board with special projects.
If any of these opportunities sound interesting, or if you have some other talent that you would like to share to help our organization, please e-mail us at volunteer@theellington.org. We'll take as little or as much time as you have, and would love to have you as part of our team. (One of our board members wrote this plea... sounds like they just want to kick back and relax, doesn't it?)
